THEATER
SURROUND
To enter the SURROUND MODE, use THUMB STICK
MODE of your choice.
Now press THUMB STICK
Use THUMB STICK

level. Adjust MAIN volume first.
Each SURROUND setting has separate FL (Front Left), C (Center), FR (Front Right), SR (Surround Right), SL (Surround Left), and
SW (Sub Woofer) volume controls, except OFF, which has only balance and SW (Sub Woofer) controls.
All speaker volumes will increase or decrease when the main VOLUME is set.
The maximum volume allowed for the CENTER, REAR, and SUB WOOFER will depend on how loud the MAIN volume is set.
SURROUND OFF
Use this for normal stereo/mono broadcasts.
STADIUM SURROUND
Select this mode to simulate being at a sporting event.
ROCK ARENA SURROUND
Select this mode to simulate being at a medium sized Rock Arena.
JAZZ CLUB SURROUND
Select this mode to simulate being at a small Jazz Club.
PRO LOGIC SURROUND
Select this mode when viewing a program which is DOLBY PRO LOGIC encoded. (see page 63 for more information)
DOLBY DIGITAL SURROUND
Select this mode when viewing a program which is DOLBY DIGITAL encoded and you have a digital (optical or coaxial) input. (see
pages 64 and 65 for more information)
NOTES: 1. This TV can not decode or process DTS (Digital Theater Surround).
2. If you can not adjust SR, SL, or SW, make sure they are turned on in the THEATER - SPEAKER SETUP menu.
(see page 67)
3. "PROLOGIC" indication in surround menu changes to "DOLBY DIGITAL" automatically when Dolby Digital audio is
inputted. However, "PROLOGIC" indication appears when Dolby Digital 2.0 is inputted. "STADIUM", "ROCK ARENA",
and "JAZZ CLUB" are not selectable when Dolby Digital signal is inputted. (See pages 63-64)
The following surround settings will reproduce the "live" sound you would hear in concert halls,
sports stadiums, movie theaters, etc. when you set up your speaker system as shown in the section
on audio system setup on pages 22-23. The surround system is most effective with movie and other
stereo material that is Dolby Surround encoded.
