Be sure to place the fuel tank
breather hose and the fuel tank
overflow hose in the original po-
sition.
1. Fuel tank breather hose (except for Califor-
nia)

3. Coolant reservoir hose
10. Install the rider seat.

Air intake duct

1. Air intake duct
Check that the screen of the intake duct
is not blocked. Clean the screen if nec-
essary.

Checking the engine idling
speed
The engine idling speed must be
checked as follows and, if necessary,
adjusted by a Yamaha dealer at the in-
tervals specified in the periodic mainte-
nance and lubrication chart.
Start the engine and warm it up for sev-
eral minutes at 1000–2000 r/min while
occasionally revving it to 4000–5000
r/min.
NOTE:
The engine is warm when it quickly re-
sponds to the throttle.
Engine idling speed:
1250–1350 r/min
