Read all instructions before using this tool! Keep work area clean. Cluttered areas invite injuries. Observe work area conditions. Do not use the Flexible Infrared Thermometer in damp or wet locations. Don’t expose to rain. Keep work area well lighted. Do not use electrically powered tools in the presence of flammable gases or liquids. - Page 3 When unpacking, check to make sure the parts on page 8 are included. If any parts are missing or broken, please call Harbor Freight Tools at the number on the cover of this manual as soon as possible.

Page 4: Operation
Note: You will need to set the “C” or “F” key (5) to establish an LCD readout in either Fahrenheit or Celsius. Refer to the Assembly Drawing on page 8. The Thermometer automatically powers ON when the Measuring Key (7) is selected. The Thermometer will power OFF automatically approximately 7 seconds after the Measuring Key (7) is released. - Page 5 Figure 4 Measuring Operation Hold the Thermometer in your hand, point the Laser Pointer (2) and Infrared Sensor (1) toward the object to be measured. The Thermometer will automatically compensate for temperature deviations from ambient temperature. Note: It will take up to 30 minutes to adjust to wide ambient temperature measurements, followed by high temperature measurements.

Emissivity Most organic materials and painted or oxidized surfaces have an emissivity of 0.95 (pre-set in the unit). Inaccurate readings will result from measuring a shiny or polished metal surface. See recommendations on page 6 for obtaining an accurate reading and refer to the chart below. -
