Problem
Chaotic image, noisy

Due to the digital reception technologies involved, quality of the digital signals may be relatively low in
some cases, despite good reception of analogue programmes.

Is "Colour" or "Contrast" in the Picture Menu set to the minimum?

Turn off the TV with Mains power On / Off switch, then turn it On
again.
Is "Sound mute" active? (p. 9)
Is the volume set to the minimum?
Sound signal reception may be deteriorated.
Set "NICAM" (p. 29) in the Sound Menu to "Off".
(Analogue only)
The sound is from built-in cooling fan
(not a sign of faulty operation).
The quality of image and sound may be poor due to weather
conditions (heavy rain, snow etc.).
Check "Signal Condition" (p. 35 and p. 37) or "DVB Signal
Condition" (p. 39).
If "Signal Quality" or "Signal Strength" are displayed in red, check
aerial or dish.
If problem persists, consult your local Panasonic dealer.
Turn the TV off with the Mains power On / Off switch, then turn it
On again.
Check the aerial or dish.
The programme may broadcast for part of the day.
Check the programme in TV Guide. (p. 18 and p. 19)
Programme numbers may be changed by broadcasters.
This is due to broadcast limitations. (p. 29)
Set the sound setting of the connected equipment to
"2ch L.PCM".
Check the "HDMI1 / 3 Input" setting in the Sound Menu. (p. 29)
If digital sound connection has a problem, select analogue sound
connection. (p. 58)
Is the HDMI cable connected properly? (p. 56)
Turn Off the TV and equipment, then turn them On again.
Check an input signal from the equipment. (p. 61)
Use an equipment compliant with EIA/CEA-861/861B.
Off Timer function is activated.
The TV enters "Standby mode" about 30 mins. after analogue
broadcasting ends.
Are the batteries installed correctly? (p. 6)
Has the TV been switched On?
Follow the message's instructions.
If the problem persists, contact the authorized Service Centre.
