Power supply

 To save power when the unit is not to be used for a long time, unplug the AC
adaptor from the household mains socket.
The batteries are drained if you leave the AC adaptor connected after recharging
is complete. When finished recharging, unplug the AC adaptor from the unit.
 The unit is in the standby condition when the AC adaptor is connected. The primary
circuit is always "live" as long as the AC adaptor is connected to an electrical outlet.

Using the rechargeable batteries

Press to
open the lid.
 Press the tab firmly
and lift upwards.
Recharge the batteries.
CHG
Recharging starts.
The "CHG" lamp lights.
Recharging complete.
The "CHG" lamp goes out.
Recharging takes approx. 5 to 6 hours (a maximum of approx. 6 hours). (When using the supplied
rechargeable batteries.) Rechargeable batteries can be recharged approximately 300 times.
Listening to CDs (Basic play)
Open the lid.

While playing, tilt and hold.
 You can only search within the current track except for during all
track repeat ( page 4) and regular play.
When playing MP3, the elapsed play time displayed may differ from the
actual elapsed time particularly while searching MP3 with variable bit rates.
When searching during play, the sound is interrupted longer while playing MP3 than CD-DA.
When searching MP3 during play, short tracks (less than approx. 10
seconds for MP3 recorded at 128 kbps) may be skipped.

 The battery indicator "
finished.
 You can recharge the batteries before they are fully discharged.
 Fit the battery lid so it is secure and flush with the battery compartment. If it
comes loose, it may scratch your discs.
 Remove the rechargeable batteries from the unit if they are not used for a long time.
Dry cell batteries (not included)
  Press and open.
Close
securely.
 You can get extended play time by using the dry cell batteries together with the
rechargeable batteries in the unit.
(The unit will also work when batteries are in the case only.)

 Before playing starts the battery indicator level may temporarily go down or flash
although the batteries are not drained. It appears correctly once you start play.
AC adaptor
The unit will also work when using the AC adaptor only. Connect the AC adaptor ( left).
