DC power and reduces the voltage supplied to this computer. Please note that keyboard keys can only be used if the Wake- up on Keyboard option is enabled within the TOSHIBA System Settings. If the computer enters Sleep Mode while a network application is active, the application might not be restored when the computer is next turned on and the system returns from Sleep Mode. -

To prevent the computer from automatically entering Sleep Mode, disable Sleep Mode within the Power Options. To use the Hybrid Sleep function, configure it in the Power Options. Benefits of Sleep Mode The Sleep Mode feature provides the following benefits: Restores the previous working environment more rapidly than the Hibernation Mode feature. -
Page 29: Starting Hibernation Mode
Save your data. While entering Hibernation Mode, the computer saves the contents of memory to the Hard Disk Drive. However, for safety sake, it is best to save your data manually. Data will be lost if you remove the battery or disconnect the AC adaptor before the save is completed. - Page 30 Click Power Options and then click Choose what the power button does or Choose what closing the lid does. Enable the desired Hibernation Mode settings for When I press the power button and When I close the lid. Click the Save changes button. Using the Touch Screen Some models are equipped with a touch screen. You can use your finger to manipulate icons, buttons, menu items, the onscreen keyboard, and other items on the touch screen. -

Page 72: Removing The Battery Pack
This section explains how to remove and install the battery pack, and begins with the removal process which is detailed through the following steps. Do not remove the battery pack while the computer is in Sleep Mode. Data is stored in RAM, so if the computer loses power it could be lost. In Hibernation Mode, data will be lost if you remove the battery pack or disconnect the AC adaptor before the save is completed. -

Grasp the module by its edges and remove it from the computer. If you use the computer for a long time, the memory modules and the circuits locating close to the memory modules will become hot. Formatting a memory media card Memory media cards are sold already formatted in conformity to specific standards. If you reformat a memory card, be sure to reformat it with a device such as digital camera or digital audio player that uses the memory cards, not with the format command provided within Windows. -

Inserting memory media The following instructions apply to all types of supported media devices. To insert memory media, follow the steps as detailed below: Turn the memory media so that the contacts (metal areas) face down.
