The IntelliControl ICS iRemote is a two-way RF (Radio Frequency) hand-held remote control user interface. Eight backlit Master Keys provide Niles exclusive “One Touch to Music,” which turns the system on, selects a source and starts the music. Additional backlit Hard Keys and Soft Keys provide complete source and system control.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS Two-Way Wireless Communication The iRemote transmits commands to a Master Charging Base, connected to the IntelliControl ICS Modular MultiZone Receiver for system and source control. The iRemote Base/Charger receives system and source status information and metadata from the Master Charging Base as provided from the IntelliControl ICS Modular MultiZone Receiver.

The Master Key for the source selected illuminates to indicate source selected and zone on status. Mute On Indicator “Zone Muted” will appear in the title bar of the iRemote display to indicate the selected zone is muted. Zone Off Press the OFF key to turn off the zone you’re controlling.
Your new iRemote comes equipped with a rechargeable battery, charging base and power supply. After every use, place your iRemote into the charging base cradle. The charging base’s front panel light changes from light blue to bright blue when the remote is seated correctly.

Two MAC ID stickers are found on the iRemote Charging Base. Remove one of the stickers and place in the area under the box marked “1” box for the “iRemote Master Charging Base” on the GXR2 Installation Worksheet.
To install the Master Key labels (Figure 6): 1. Locate the Master Key keycaps. (Keycaps DO NOT come installed for the iRemote). 2. Place labels from the included label sheet inside the keycap. 3. Place the caps in the appropriate key locations. (Refer to the GXR2 Installation Worksheet to assure proper position).

INSTALLATION (CONT’D) Wiring Termination Diagram The iRemote Master Charging Base connects to an IntelliControl ICS Modular MultiZone Receiver via CAT-5 cable. The iRemote Master Charging Base will be set in the same location as the IntelliControl ICS Modular MultiZone Receiver. ONLY THE MASTER CHARG- ING BASE IS CONNECTED TO THE INTELLICONTROL ICS MOD- ULAR MULTIZONE RECEIVER.
LCD will display the correct “Now Playing” screen and corresponding metadata. When more than one iRemote is installed into a home, the operational RF ranges of the additional iRemote Bases combine to form a Mesh Network.

Once connected, designate this base the “Master Charging Base” (see Figure 10). All other iRemote Charging Bases in the system can be plugged into any unswitched AC outlet to provide wireless two-way radio connec- tivity and iRemote battery charging.

This ensures that both the handheld remote controls and the charging bases will be config- ured correctly (See Figure 11).
