Using The Smart Card Reader - Lenovo USB Smartcard User Manual

To install the keyboard, do the following:
1. Adjust the tilt feet to set the keyboard near your computer to your preference.
2. Route the keyboard cable into the right or left cable slot according to your preference.
3. Connect the keyboard cable to an available USB connector on the computer. The operating system will
identify the keyboard and the smart card reader. Then, the keyboard is ready for use.

Using the smart card reader

This topic provides instructions on how to use the smart card reader of the keyboard.
To use the smart card reader of the keyboard, do the following:
1. Insert a smart card into the smart card reader slot with the contact pad facing up.
Note: For information on using the smart card, contact the smart card manufacturer.

2. The smart card status LED will be on in green for a while. Then the smart card reader is ready for use.
Attention: To avoid transmission errors and loss of data, do not remove the smart card when the smart card
reader is active.
