    Wipe dry and then apply an appliance polish to thoroughly clean and protect the surface. NOTE: The plastic tape must be removed before using the cooktop.     Your surface units and controls are designed to give you an infinite choice of heat settings for surface unit cooking. At both OFF and HI the control “clicks” into position. How to Set the Controls 1. Grasp the control knob and push down.

    To replace a surface unit: • Replace the drip pan into the recess in the cooktop. Make sure opening in the pan lines up with the receptacle. • Insert the terminals of the surface unit through the opening in the drip pan and into the receptacle.
