Problem
Wobbling wheel

Possible Cause
• Axle broken
• Wheel out of true
• Hub comes loose
• Headset binding
• Hub bearings collapsed
• QR mechanism loose
• Wheels not aligned in frame
• Headset loose or binding
• Front forks or frame bent
• Inner tube old or faulty
• Tire tread/casing worn
• Tire unsuited to rim
• Tire not checked after previous puncture
• Tire pressure too low
• Spoke protruding into rim
Remedy
• Replace axle
• True wheel
• Adjust hub bearings
• Adjust headset
• Replace bearings
• Adjust QR mechanism
• Align wheels correctly
• Adjust/tighten headset
• Take bike to a bike shop for
possible frame realignment
• Replace inner tube
• Replace tire
• Replace with correct tire
• Remove sharp object embedded in tire
• Correct tire pressure
• File down spoke
