Recording Movies
R Before recording, select a frame size using the O QUALITY option in the shooting
menu. Select h 1280 (1280 × 720) for an aspect ratio of 16 : 9 (High Defi nition),
f (640 × 480) to record standard defi nition movies, or g (320 × 240) for longer
movies.
R Focus, exposure, and white balance are adjusted automatically throughout record-
ing. The color and brightness of the image may vary from that displayed before
recording begins.
R Sounds made by the camera may be recorded.
Q The indicator lamp lights while movies are being recorded. Do not open the battery
chamber during shooting or while the indicator lamp is lit. Failure to observe this
precaution could prevent the movie from being played back.
Q Vertical or horizontal streaks may appear in movies containing very bright subjects.
This is normal and does not indicate a malfunction.
Q The temperature of the camera may rise if it is used to record movies for an ex-
tended period or if the ambient temperature is high. This is normal and does not
indicate a malfunction.
