To replace an ink cartridge while the B and A ink out lights are
off, follow these steps.
Caution:

Once you remove an ink cartridge it becomes unusable
and cannot be reinstalled, even if ink remains in it.

Leave the old cartridge installed in the printer until you
are ready to replace it with a new one.
1. Make sure the printer is on. The P power light should be on,
but not flashing.
2. Lower the output tray at the front of the printer; then open
the printer cover.
3. Hold down the
print head moves to the replacement position. The P
power light begins flashing.
Caution:
c
Do not move the print head by hand. Always use the
load/eject button to move it. Otherwise you may damage
the printer.
Note:
The printer automatically moves the print head back to its home
(far right) position after 60 seconds if you have not started the
replacement procedure.
