Airb ag control indica tor v
The a irb ag system is monitored
electronic ally together with the belt
tensioners, and their operational readiness
shown b y the control indicator in the
instrument panel. When the ignition is
switched on, the control indica tor
illuminates then ex tinguishes. If it does not
light up, or if it illuminates d uring driving,
there is a fault in the airbag sy stem. The
system mig ht not be trigg ered in the event
of an accid ent.
Have the airbag sy stem checked without
delay . We recommend that you consult
your Vauxhall App rov ed R epairer.
The system's integral self-diagnosis fa cility
allows faults to be quickly remedied.
Imp or tant
z Accessories not released for your v ehicle
type and other objects must not be
affixed or placed in the area in which the
airbag inflates, as they could cause
injury when the airbag is triggered.
z Do not place any objects between the
airbag sy stem and the vehicle
occupants; danger of injury.
z Do not stic k or place anything on the
steering wheel or instrument p anel in the
vicinity of the airbag a nd seat areas or
cover them with other materia ls.
z The airbag system and belt tensioner
control electronics can be found in the
centre console area . In order to avoid
malfunctions, d o not store magnetic
objec ts in this area.
z Use only a dry cloth or interior cleaner to
clean the steering w heel a nd instrument
panel. Aggressive cleaning agents may
cause d amage.
z The airbag sy stem is triggered
depending on the sev erity of the
accident and the ty pe of imp act.
z The airbag only actuates once. Please
replace an airbag that has been
trig gered. Hav e the cause of the fa ult
remedied . We recommend that you
consult yourVaux hall Ap prov ed
Repairer.
z The speeds, directions of movement and
deformation properties of the vehic les,
and the p roperties of the obstacle
conc erned, determ ine the severity of the
accident and triggering of the airbag.
z Do not make any m od ifica tions to the
components of the airbag sy stem and
the seats, as this will render the v ehicle
unroadworthy.
The system can be triggered abruptly
and cause injury if they are ha nd led
improperly.
