2. Connect the charger to an AC
wall socket. The text
displayed briefly if the phone is
switched on. If the battery is
completely empty, it may take a
few minutes before the charging
indicator appears on the display
or before any calls can be made.
The charging time depends on the
charger used. For example, charging
a battery with the AC-1 charger
takes up to 1 hour and 30 minutes
while the phone is in standby mode.
■ Switching the phone on
and off
Warning: Do not switch the
phone on when wireless
phone use is prohibited or
when it may cause
interference or danger.
Press and hold the End key until the
phone switches on or off.
If the phone asks for a PIN code or
the security code, scroll to the
desired digit in the character bar,
and press Select. Repeat this for
each digit of the code. If you enter
an incorrect character, press

■ Normal operating
position
Your phone has an
internal antenna.
Use the phone only
in its normal
operating position.
Note: As with any other radio
transmitting device, do not touch
the antenna unnecessarily when the
device is switched on. Contact with
the antenna affects call quality and
may cause the device to operate at a
higher power level than otherwise
needed. Avoiding contact with the
antenna area when operating the
device optimises the antenna
performance and the battery life.
