14. Outdoor Antenna Grounding
If an outside antenna or cable systemis connectedto the
product, be sure the antenna or cable systemis groundedso
as to providesome protection against vottage surgesand
buitt-up static charges.Articla 810 of the National Elactricat
Code(U.S.A.), ANSI/NFPA 70 providesinformation with
regard to proper groundingof the mast and supporting
structure, groundingof the laad-in wire to an antenna dis-
charge unit, size of groundingconductors, t ocation of anten-
na-dischargeunit, connectionto groundingelactrodes,and
requirementsfor the groundingelectrode.

15. Lightning
For added protection for this product(receiver) during a
lightning storm, or when it is left unattendedand unused
for tong periods of time, unptug it from the watt outlet and
disconnectthe antenna or cabla system.This witt prevent
damage to the productdue to lightning and power-Line
surges.
16. Power Lines
An outside antenna systemshoutdnot be tocated in the
vicinity of overhead powertines or other elactric Lightor
power circuits, or where it can fail into such powertines or
circuits. Wheninstattlng an outside antenna system,extreme
care should be taken to keep from touching suchpower tines
or circuits as contact with them might be fatal.
