• COMPONENT
OUT
This will change lhe type of signal output from
the COMPONENT
VIDEO OUT jacks on the
system. See page 79 for more information
about
the different types.
INTERLACE
Select this when you connect
to a
standard
(interlace
format) TV.
PROGRESSIVE
Select this when you have a TV
that can accept progressive
signals.
(CUSTOM SETUP)
Allows setting up Parental Control and other
settings.
Notes
• When "PROGRESSIVE"
is selected
in "SCREEN
SETUP,"
no signal is output from the MONITOR
OUT jacks.
• When "PROGRESSIVE"
is selected
in "SCREEN
SETUP"
and the colour system of_he TV is PAL, the
signal is converted
to the interlace
format signal
automatically.
• If you set "COMPONENT
OUT" in "SCREEN
SETUP"
to "PROGRESSIVE"
even though
your TV
cmmot accept the signal in progressive
format,
picture
noise may appears.
In this case, set the
SCAN SELECT
switch
to "INTERLACE."
Select "CUSTOM
SETUP"
in the Setup
Display. For details on using the display, see
"Using
the Setup Display"
(page 65).
The default settings are underlined.
• PARENTAL
CONTROL --* (DVD only)
Sets a password
and playback
limitation
level
lbr DVDs with playback limitation
lbr children.

playback

(page 55).
• TRACK SELECTION
(DVD only)
Gives the sound track having the highest number
of channels priority when you play a DVD on
which multiple
audio formats (PCM, MPEG
audio, DTS, or Dolby Digital fonna 0 are
recorded.
OFF
No priority
given.
AUTO
Priority given.
Notes
• When you set the item to "AUTO,"
the language
may
change.
The "TRACK
SELECTION"
setting has
higher priority than the "AUDIO"
settings
in
"LANGUAGE
SETUP"
(page 66).
• [fPCM,
DTS, MPEG audio, and Dolby Digital sound
t_cks
have the stone number
of channels,
the system
selects PCM, DTS, Dolby Digital, and MPEG
audio
sound tracks in this order.
• Depending
on the DVD, the audio channel
with
priority may be predetermined.
In this case, you
cann_
give priority
to the DTS, Dolby Digital,
or
MPEG audio tbnnat
by selecting
"AUTO."
