BladeControlHandle
The blade control handle is located on the upper handle
of the mower. The blade control handle must be
depressed in order to operate the unit. Release the
blade control handle to stop the engine and the blade.
,_
WARNING"
The blade control handle is a
safety device. Never attempt to bypass its
operations or alter it in any way.
Lower Bail Handle
The lower bail handle is located on the upper handle
and is used to engage the drive. Squeeze the bail
handle against the upper handle to engage the drive;
release it to slow down or stop the mower from
propelling.
Primer
The primer is used to pump gas into the carburetor. Use
it to assist in starting a cold engine, but do not use it
when restarting a warm engine after a short shutdown.
Refer to engine manual for location of the primer.

RecoilStarter
The recoil starter is attached to the handle. Stand
behind the unit and pull the starter rope to start the unit.
ElectricStarter Key
The electric start ignition key is located on the left side
of the handle panel. It is used only for the electric
starter. Turn the key clockwise to start the engine and
release it once the engine has started.
GrassCatcher
The grass catcher, as its name implies, involves a
grass bag to automatically collect the grass clippings
when the intention is not to mulch or side-discharge.
MulchingPlug
Make sure that the rear discharge door is closed, the
grass catcher is removed and the side-discharge chute
deflector removed from the unit while mulching. Insert
the mulching baffle at the rear of the mower and lower
the mulch plug at the right side of the deck to mulch.
CuttingHeightAdjustmentLever
These levers are located on each wheel and they are
used to adjust the cutting height. All four levers have to
be at the same relative position to ensure uniform cut.
