Preparing the Log Splitter
iMPORTANT: T he log splitterisshippedwithouthydraulic
fluidin the reservoirtank. You MUSTadd fluidbefore
operating.Proceedwith the followingsteps:
1. Removeoil plug,which is locatedon the end of the
Figure 3-1 beamassembly.See Figure3-1.
2. Tilt unit back andadd 1.5gallonsof hydraulicfluid
(Dexron®III, or 10 weightAWhydraulicoil).
3. Replaceandtightenoil plug.
4. Lowerunitto levelground.
IMPORTANT:Maximumfluid levelwill not be achieved
untilcylinderiscycled(See Operating Your LogSplit-
ter). Checkwhenfluidis cold and with unit level.Never
run belowthis level- pumpwill be ruined.
