4. Neverallowadultsto operatethis machinewithout
properinstruction.
5. Manyaccidentsoccurwhenmorethan one person
operatesthe machine.If a helperisassistingin load-
inglogs, neveractivatethe controluntil the helperis
a minimumof 10 feetfrom the machine.
6. Keepbystanders,helpers,pets,and childrenat least
20 feet from the machinewhile itisin operation.

duringoperation.Fluidescapingthrougha pin hole
openingcanpenetrateyour skinand cause blood

b. Do notoperatemachinewith frayed,kinked,
cracked,or damagedhoses,fitting, or tubing.
c. Stopthe engineand relievehydraulicsystem

d. Do notadjust the pressuresettingsof the pumpor
valve.
10.Leakscan be detectedby passingcardboardor
wood,whilewearingprotectiveglovesand safety
glasses,overthesuspectedarea. Lookfordiscolor-
ationof cardboardor wood.
11. If injuredby escapingfluid, seea doctor immediately.
Seriousinfection or reactioncandevelopifproper
medicaltreatmentis not administeredimmediately.
12.Keepthe operatorzoneand adjacentareaclear for
safe,securefooting.
13.If yourmachineis equippedwith an internal com-
bustionengineand it is intended for usenear any
unimproved forest,brush,or grass coveredland,
the engineexhaustshouldbe equippedwith a spark
arrester.Makesureyoucomplywith applicablelocal,
state,and federalcodes.Takeappropriatefirefighting
equipmentwith you.
14.This machineshouldbe usedfor splittingwoodonly,
do not use itfor anyother purpose.
