CHARGING
THE BATTERY
PACK
The battery pack for this tool has been sh(pped (n a (ow
charge condition to prevent poss(b)e prob(ems. Therefore,
you shou(d charge ovem(ght prior to use.
NOTE: Batteries wi(( not reach fu(( charge the first time
they are charged. Al(ow severa( cycles (operation fo(!owed
by recharging) for them to become fu((y charged.
[] Charge battery pack on(y with the charging assembly
provided.
[] Make sure power supp(y is normal househo(d vo(tage,
!20 volts, 60 Hz, AC on(y.
[] Connect charger to power supp(y.
[] P(ace battery pack in charging stand. A(ign raised r(b
on battery pack with groove in charg(ng stand. See
Figure 2.
[] Press down on battery pack to be sure contacts on
battery pack engage proper(y w(th contacts (n charg(ng
stand.
[] The charge indicator (ight (LED), (ocated on the charg-
ing stand, wi(( (ight up red and glow when the charger
ls properly connected to power supp(y. This (ight
indicates the charger is operating proper(y. (t wi(!
remain on unti( battery pack is removed from charg(ng
stand or charger ls disconnected
from power supp(y.
NOTE: (f charger does not charge battery pack, return
battery pack and charging assemb(y to your nearest
Sears Repair Center for eiectdca) check.
[] After norma( usage, 3 hours or less of charging time is
required to fu((y recharge battery pack.
NOTE: (f battery pack is complete(y discharged,
6 hours or longer of charg(ng time is required to fu(ly
recharge battery pack.

touch whi(e charging. This is normal and does not
lnd(cate a prob(em.
[] Do not p(ace charger in an area of extreme heat or
co(d. (t wi(I work best at normal room temperature.
[] When batteries become fu((y charged, unp(ug charger
from power supply and remove the battery pack.
CHARGING
A HOT BATTERY
PACK
When using your tool continuous(y, the batteries in your
battery pack wil! become hot. You should (et a hot battery
pack cool down for approximately 30 minutes before
attempting to recharge.
NOTE: This situation only occurs when continuous
use of
your dri(! causes the batteries to become hot. (t does not
occur under normal circumstances.
Refer to "CNARG(NG
THE BATTERY PACK" for norma( recharging of batteries.
(f the charging assembly does not charge your battery
pack under norma( circumstances,
return both the battery
pack and charging assembly to your nearest Sears Repair
Center for e(ectrical check.
