Contact with antennas affects the communication quality and may reduce battery life due to higher power level during operation. The antenna area is highlighted.     Do not connect products that create an output signal, as this may damage the device. Do not connect any voltage source to the Nokia AV connector. If you connect an external device or headset, other than those approved by Nokia for use with this device, to the Nokia AV connector, pay special attention to volume levels.

    Pull out the SIM card holder. Remove the SIM card. Insert or remove the memory card Use only compatible memory cards approved by Nokia for use with this device. Incompatible cards may damage the card and the device and corrupt data stored on the card.
  • Page 12 Get started Make sure the contact area is facing up, and insert the memory card into the holder. Insert the memory card holder back into the phone. Remove the memory card If your device is switched on, first press and hold the power key, and select the option to remove the memory card.

    About the battery Your device has an internal, nonremovable, CTIA 1725-certified rechargeable battery. Use only Nokia approved chargers designated for this device. You can also use a compatible USB data cable to charge your device. Do not attempt to remove the battery from the device. To replace the battery, take the device to your nearest authorised service facility.
  • Page 14 Get started When the phone indicates a full charge, disconnect the charger from the phone, then from the wall outlet. You do not need to charge the battery for a specific length of time, and you can use the device while it is charging. If the battery is completely discharged, it may take several minutes before the charging indicator is displayed or before any calls can be made.

    Basic use Use shortcuts You don't have to navigate long paths to, for example, open or close an internet connection, or to silence your phone. You can access these settings directly in the status menu, no matter what application or view you're in. Swipe down from the notification area.

    Basic use Tip: When listening to music, you can quickly access the music player from the status area. Switch between open applications You can see which applications and tasks are open in the background, and switch between them. Press and hold the menu key, swipe left or right, and select the desired application. Applications running in the background increase the demand on battery power and use memory.
