The use of improper accessories may create a temporarilyreplaces the miter fence supplied with your risk of injury. Do not use this long miter/rip fence saw. When used as a long rip fence it attaches to the kit for any purpose other than as an accessory to ripfence supplied with your saw.

As the name HEADBOLT_ (LONGMITERFENCERAIL) implies it provides support and stability for the long 1/4in.
