USING THE TELEVISION AS THE TUNER preserves a ll your channeL labeLs (not availableon somemodels).It also
reduces the numberof keyson the remotecontrolyou needto worryabout. (Onedevice,one remoteto Learn.)
USING THE VCR AS THE TUNER has the advantageof simpti_jingthe recordingprocess. I f the VCRis tuned to
channeL seven, then the VCRwilt recordchannelseven.
USING THE CABLE BOX (if you have one) to changethe stations sometimeshas an advantage,too, especiallyif
your cable providerrequiresyou to use their cable boxto descramble their stations.

Basedon the advantagesListed above,decidewhat
deviceyou want to useas the tuner for your
EntertainmentMachine.
Connectthe antenna or cable sourceto the input
of yourtuner. If you choseyour television as the
tuner, then you're done.Go watch your
Entertainment Machine.
Connectthe output of yourtuner to the input of the
next device.
If you usedA/V cablesfor step 3, set the "next
device"to Video input. If you usedan RFcoaxial
cable in step 3, then tune the "next device"to
matchthe output channelof your tuner (usuaLly
channel 3 or 4).
