o To start engine using the Rope Starter,
follow
the
above
steps° Exchange the use of the E_ectric Start
Key for Starter
Rope.. Do not allow
Starter
Rope
to snap
back.
o To "STOP"
engine,
release
Enc_ine Control

NOTE: In cooler
weather
it may be
necessary
to
repeat
priming
steps, in warmer
weather
over prim-
ing may cause flooding
and engine will not start_ _f
you do flood
engine
wait a few minutes before
at-
tempting
to start and DO NO1" repeat
priming
steps_

Under certain conditions,
such as very tall grass,
it may be necessary
to raise the height of cut and
lower the ground speed to keep from overloading
the engine and leaving
clumps of grass dippings_
For extremely
heavy cutting,
reduce the width of
cut and raise the lawn mower housing one (1) set-
ting higher
for better
discharge
of grass.
o
When
using
a rear
discharge
lawn
mower
in
moist, heavy grass,
clumps of cut grass may not
enter
the grass catcher.
Reduce
ground
speed
(pushing speed) and/or
run the lawn mower ove_"
the area
a second time.
o
_f a trail of grassdippings
is left on the right side
of a rear
discharge
lawn
mower,
mow
in a
clockwise
direction
with a small overlap
to col-
le_:t the clippings
on the next pass
o
Pores in cloth grass catchers
can become
filled
with dirt and dust with use and catchers wil! col-
led less grass. To prevent this, regularly
hose cat-
cher off with water
and let dry
before
using.
