MAINTENANCE
BELT GUIDE ADJUSTMENT
1. Remove sparkplug wire.
2. Have someone engage theaugerdrive.This will engage augeridler
pulley(A, Figure34).
3. Measure thedistance between the beltguide(B)and belt(C).The
distance shouldbeabout1/8inch(3 ram).
4. If adjustment i s necessary, loosenbeltguidemountingbolt. Move
beltguideto thecorrectposition.Tighten mountingbolt.
5. Installbeltcover.
6. Connect s parkplugwire.

CHECK ANDADJUSTTHECABLES
Thecables areadjusted atthefactoryandnoadjustment s houldbe
necessary. If thecableshavebecome stretched or aresaggingadjustment
will benecessary.
Whenever beltsareadjusted or replaced, thecables will needto bead-
justed.
Tocheckfor correctadjustment, unhook"Z" fitting (A,Figure35) at clutch
lever(B).
1. Moveclutchlever(B)to thefull forwardposition(justcontacting
plasticbumper). H oldingcabletight, notepositionof fittingto holein
clutchlever.
2. Thecenter of the"Z" fitting (A)shouldbebetween thecenter andtop
of theholein theclutchlever(B).

[,_ ARNING: Drain the gasoline outdoors, away from fire
or flame.
1. Remove thegasfromthegastank.Standthesnowthrowerupon the
frontendof theaugerhousing.
2. Pushcable(A,Figure36) throughspring(B)to expose thethreaded
portionof thecable.
3. Holdsquare end ofthreaded portionwith pliersandadjustIocknut
(C) in or outuntil correctadjustment i s reached.
4. Pull cablebackthroughspringand connect c able.
