• Remove blade and attaching hardware
(bolt, lock washer and hardened washer).
NOTE: Remove the blade adapter and
check the key inside hub of blade adapter.
The key must be in good condition to work
properly. Replace adapter if damaged.

BLADE CARE
For bestresults, m owerblademustbe kept
sharp. Replacebentordamagedblades.
TO REMOVE BLADE
• Disconnect spark plugwirefrom spark plug
and placewirewhereit cannotcomein
contactwithspark plug.
• Turnlawn moweron itsside.Make sure air
filterand carburetor a re up.
• Use a woodblockbetweenblade and
mowerhousing to preventbladefrom
turning whenremoving blade belt.
• Protectyourhandswithglovesand/orwrap
blade with heavy cloth.
Remove blade bolt by turning counter-
clockwise. Use a 9/16" box or open-end
wrench.
• Position the bladeadapter on the engine
crankshaft.Be sure keyin adapterand
keywayincrankshaft a re aligned.
• Position bladeonthe blade adapter
aligning thetwo(2) holesin the bladewith
the raisedlugs onthe adapter.
• Besurethetrailing edge isup towardthe
engine.
• Install t he bladebolt withthe lockwasher
and hardened washerintdbladeadapter
andcrankshaft.
• Use blockofwoodbetweenbladeand
lawnmowerhousingandtightenthe blade
bolt, turningclockwise.
• The recommendedtightening torque is35-
40 ft.ibs.
IMPORTANT: Blade bolt is grade 8 heat
treated.
