NOTE: If the engine sounds as if it is
trymg to start before the 5th pull, go
to the next step.
• Move choke to HALF position.
• Pull starter rope sharply until engine
runs, but no more than 6 pulis.
NOTE: If engine has not started after 6
pulls, repeat all of the above steps.
, Allow engine to run for 15 seconds,
then move choke to OFF position.
• Squeeze and release the throttle trig-
ger to allow engine to idle.
NOTE: If engine dies wdh choke at OFF
position, move the choke to the Half
position and pull the starter rope 6
more times. If engine does not start
and operate properly, refer to "Carbure-
tor Adjustments."
• To stop eng=ne, move switch to OFF.
FOR A WARM ENGINE
• Move switch to the ON position.
• Move choke to OFF position.
• Activate the throttle lock.
• Press primer bulb 6 times.
• Sharply pull starter rope until engine
runs.
NOTE: If engine does not run after 5
pulls, it is probably flooded. Wait a few
minutes and repeat procedure with
choke at OFF.
• To stop engine, move switch to OFF.
DIFFICULT STARTING OR
STARTING A FLOODED ENGINE
Flooded engines can be started by
placing choke lever in the Off Choke
position and On/Stop switch in the On
position. Activate the throttle lock; then,
pull rope until engine starts. After the
engine starts, squeeze and release the
throttle trigger to allow engine to idle.
Starting could require pulling the starter
handle many times depending on how
badly unit is flooded. If unit still doesn't
start, refer to the TROUBLESHOOTING
chart or call 1-800-235-5878.

AIR FILTER
Do nol clean filter in gasoline or other
flammable solvent. Doing so can
create a fire hazard or produce harmful
evaporative emissions.
Cleaning the air filter:
A dirty air filter decreases engine per-

clean after every 5 hours of operation.
