    PREPARATION FOR USE Unpacking And Set Up Carefully remove the unit from the display carton and remove all packing material from the unit. Unwind the AC power cord and extend it to its full length. Unwind the FM Antenna wire and extend it to its full length. Place the unit on a stable, level surface, convenient to an AC outlet, out of direct sunlight, and away from sources of excess heat, dust, moisture, humidity, or strong magnetic fields.
  • Page 7 Remove the opaque white plastic stylus cover from the phonograph stylus by sliding it in the direction of the arrow. STYLUS COVER Discard the stylus cover. Remove the twist-tie that was used to secure the tone arm during shipment. Release the tone arm lock lever. TONE ARM LOCK LEVER Connect the plug to your AC outlet.

  • Page 11 Set the Function selector (AM/FM/TAPE/CD/PHONO) to the AM or FM band as desired . The dial scale light comes on . Rotate the TUNING control to tune the desired radio station. If you tune to a strong FM stereo station, the FM ST. Indicator will light and reception will be in stereo.
  • Page 12 Playing Compact Discs PROGRAM REPEAT RANDOM OPEN/CLOSE PHONES Turn the OFF-VOLUME control clockwise until a click is heard, and set the volume to a low level. Set the Function selector (AM/FM//TAPE/CD/PHONO) to the CD position. The CD track number display comes On . Press the CD OPEN/CLOSE button to open the CD drawer.
  • Page 13 Pause Control To pause momentarily during playback press the PLAY/PAUSE button again. Playback stops but the disc continues to spin and the play indicator flashes. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button once more to cancel Pause and resume playback. The play indicator stops flashing. Skipping Tracks And High Speed Music Search During CD Playback, repeatedly press the SKIP FWD.
  • Page 14 Repeat Playback This feature allows you to continuously repeat a single track or the entire disc. To Repeat A Single Track Press the REPEAT button once. The REPEAT indicator flashes. Press the SKIP FWD. Or SKIP REV. Button to select the desired track, then press the PLAY/PAUSE Button to begin Repeat Playback of the selected track.
  • Page 15 Programmed Playback This feature allows you to program up to 20 tracks on a disc for playback in any desired order. Note: You cannot program tracks while a disc is playing. Press the PROGRAM button to enter the Program Mode. The Program number “0” and the PROG.
  • Page 16 After the last track has played the player stops and the display shows the total number of tracks on the disc. However the program sequence remains in the memory. To repeat the programmed sequence, press the PROGRAM button first and then press the PLAY/PAUSE button. The programmed sequence may be canceled by pressing the stop button at stop mode.
  • Page 17 Playing Cassette Tapes Note: Before inserting a tape in the player be sure that there is no excess slack in the cassette that could become jammed in the mechanism. Refer to the CARE AND MAINTENANCE section for instructions on removing excess slack from the cassette.

  • Page 19 Playing Records This system includes a full-size, 3-speed, belt-drive turntable. You can play 33, 45, and 78 rpm records. Turn the OFF-VOLUME control clockwise until a click is heard, and set the Volume to a low level. Set the Function (AM/FM/TAPE/CD/PHONO) selector to the PHONO position.
  • Page 20 IMPORTANT: When you connect a cable to the AUX IN input jack of this unit the function Selector automatically switches from Radio, Tape, CD or Phone to Auxiliary Input. You must disconnect the cable from the AUX IN input jack in order to listen to the Radio, Tape, CD or Phono again.

    LINE OUT Jacks This system includes a set of LINE OUT L/R jacks which allow you to record from the Radio, Tape, CD or Phono player of this system to an external recording device such as a cassette recorder, Mini-Disc, etc.
  • Page 22 Using Stereo Headphones (Not Included) Connect a set of stereo headphones with a 3.5mm mini-plug to thePHONES jack on the front panel. Before putting on the headphones always set the OFF-VOLUME control to a low level. Then put the headphones on and gradually increase the Volume to a comfortable listening level.

    CARE AND MAINTENANCE Cassette Care Two common causes of trouble experienced when using cassettes are: Tape jamming - Leading to uneven speed in playback, and Tape tangling - Where the tape wraps itself around vital parts of the mechanism.
