    T H E I L L U S T R A T O R W O R K S P A C E Illustrator shares the same user interface with Photoshop, InDesign, Fireworks, and Flash The Illustrator Workspace Professional CS4, so you can quickly access familiar tools. You can dock panels in your favorite configuration, pull them out to float free anywhere on your screen, and collapse them to an icon view.

To insert special characters or characters for which you do not know the keyboard shortcut, use the Glyphs panel (choose Type > Glyphs). Using any type tool, click an insertion point where you want to enter the character, and then double-click the character you want in the Glyphs panel.
