    10 GbE Ethernet Overview The 10 GbE feature option adds 10 GbE to the HP StorageWorks P4000 platforms. This is an add-on feature to the standard 1 GbE dual Ethernet adapters built into the system boards of the P4000 storage nodes.

    Install 10 GbE Ethernet adapter and additional memory in each storage node. Power on each storage node and install the appropriate software patch, as described in the P4000 10 GbE Hardware Installation Instructions. Configure new IP address and bonds for 10 GbE on each storage node, and change the SAN/iQ communication IP address.

    Verify that all the storage nodes in the management group are powered OFF. Install the hardware and the software patch Follow the instructions in the appropriate P4000 10 GbE Hardware Installation Instructions to install the 10 GbE network card, additional memory and apply the appropriate software patch.

    NOTE: In storage nodes that reboot after the patch installation, if volumes were online, then the volumes will resync before the patch installation can complete successfully. This resync could take a while depending on the amount of data that was written while the storage node was rebooting. NOTE: The cluster may continue flashing the warning symbol while the volumes are resyncing.

    Press Ctrl and select both the eth2 and eth3 interfaces. Right-click and select New Bond. The Create Bond Configuration window opens. Under Type, select Adaptive Load Balancing (ALB) and click OK. A confirmation prompt opens. Click OK to confirm the TCP/IP settings change. Search for the storage node using the Find function in the CMC.
