Basics
Moving an item
Tap and hold an item and drag it to a new location.
Resizing an item
Flick up or down on an item. A tick mark appears on the item and the options bar appears at
the bottom of the screen. Tap Larger to enlarge it or Smaller to reduce it.
Removing an item
Flick up or down on an item, and then, tap Unpin from Start.
Changing the tile view mode
Some items on the Start screen are displayed as live tiles, which show a brief summary of their
contents. To change a live tile to a static tile, flick up or down on the tile, and then tap Turn
live tile off.

Using the charms

Use the charms to access basic functions, such as search, file sharing, or settings. While the
charms appear on the right side of the screen, the notifications panel appears on the left side,
displaying the current time and date, Wi-Fi connection status, and battery power level.
To use the charms, flick from the right edge of the screen towards the middle of the screen.
