common tools and procedures. However, you should be familiar with and comfortable working on your vehicle. If you do

Improper installation may result in poor performance and engine or vehicle damage.
DESCRIPTION: This aluminum Valley Cover Plate is designed to cover the lifter valley of General Motors LS1/LS6 engines
when Edelbrock Performer RPM, Victor, or Super Victor carbureted intake manifolds are used. Since the Edelbrock Valley
Cover plate does not include provisions for the factory knock sensor, it is not recommended for use on EFI engines.
A raised boss has been provided if the LS6 PCV system will be used, but the hole will need to be drilled.

Valley Cover Plate
1. Be sure that the mating surfaces of the block and the surface of the cylinder heads that will meet the valley
cover are thoroughly clean and free of any oils or debris before installation. Use alcohol or lacquer thinner
on a lint-free rag to clean.
2. We recommend using GM Performance Parts gasket #12558178 between the block and cover plate, along
with an appropriate sealant, such as Edelbrock Gasgacinch (#9300).
4. Position the valley cover in place on the engine and install the stock bolts.
5. Tighten bolts to 10-12 ft./lbs., starting in the center and working your way to the ends.
