16/9 Functions

Your TV sets wide screen has a width/height ratio of 16/9.
Not all today's broadcasts are in a 16/9 format, many are still
transmitted in a conventional 4/3 format.
The
key found under the flap of the remote control can be used
to adapt the format of the received pictures to that of your screen.
Your TV also has an automatic switching function.
Video recorders or programmes carrying special switching signals will
automatically switch the TV to the correct screen format.
Use of different screen formats

key.

Each time the key is pressed a different picture format is displayed.
Each format has a corresponding symbol which appears on the
screen for a few seconds :
4 : 3, 14 : 9, ,, -, 16 : 9 and 4 : 3 again.
The same adjustments can be made using the
4 : 3 displayed on-screen
This function displays 4/3 format pictures in their original format.
Black bands are seen on either side of the screen.

This function is used to display 4:3 pictures that have narrow black
bars at the top and bottom of the picture.
The picture is enlarged, the upper and lower black bars disappear. The
black bands on either are reduced in size.
