The basic structure of LCDs makes it a durable, semi-
permanent product without the phosphor burn-in
apparent in CRT & other displays. Phosphor burn-in
makes the TV screens dark and eroded, especially when
the same images are played for extended periods of
time. Burn-in is a severe problem for airports, banks, and
other occasions where text information is heavily used.
LCDs are immune to these problems
LCDs are self luminance displays filtering light through
color filters to display different colors. Unlike
traditional CRTs or the recent PDPs, LCD displays
fundamentally do not have the problems related to
screen burn-in for 7 years of non-stop operation 24
