Conexiones eléctricas

Read the Electrical requirements and groun-
ding instructions before connecting the tumble
dryer.
Electric models of the dryer are manufactured
for a 3-wire connection system. The dryer
frame is grounded by a link to the neutral
conductor on the dryer terminal block. If local
codes do not permit grounding through the
neutral, the grounding link from the terminal
block must be removed and a separate
ground wire must be used.
Only a 4-conductor cord shall be used when
the applience is installed in a location where
grounding through the neutral conductor i
prohibited. Grounding through the neutral
conductor is prohibited for new branch-circuit
installations, mobile homes, recreational
vehicles, and areas where local codes prohibit
grounding through the neutral condutors. The
grounding link on the dryer must be removed
for all 4-wire installations.
These Electrical Connection instructions
provide for installing the dryer in the following
situations:
3-wire connection where local codes permit
grounding through the neutral. 3-wire connec-
tion plus separate grounding connector where
local codes do not permit grounding through
the neutral.
4-wire connection.
Each of the above connections can be made
with an approved power supply cord or by
direct wiring. Each connection instruction
identifies the appropriate Power Supply Cord
and covers requirements for direct wiring.
Nota
En Canadá, la secadora se suministra lista,
con una clavija de cuatro patas prevista para
la conexión a un suministro monofásico.
Conexión de un cordón de energía de tres
cables
Advertencia
Antes de comenzar este procedimiento, veri-
fique que la energía eléctrica esté apagada
en la caja de fusibles o en el cortacorriente.
Cable eléctrico
Necesitará un cable tripolar, con tres hilos de
cobre nº 10 y un receptáculo tripolar de tipo
NEMA 10-30R, como se ilustra:
Para conectar un cable tripolar a la secadora,
siga los pasos a continuación.
Nota
Los números de la ilustración se correspon-
den con los números de los pasos.
1. Apague la energía en la caja de fusibles o
en el cortacircuito.
2. Quite la cubierta del bloque terminal.
3. Ensamble un protector contra tirones de
¾ pulg aprobado por UL dentro del orificio
debajo de la abertura del bloque terminal.
4. Afloje o quite el tornillo central del bloque
terminal.

5. Conecte el cable neutral (blanco) del cor-
dón debajo del tornillo de color plateado
del centro del bloque terminal. Apriete el
tornillo.
