Enter the desired magnification level in the
Zoom text box in the status bar (See "Using the
status bar" on page 18) or in the Navigator
palette.
Click the Zoom Out button on the Navigator
palette bar.
To magnify by dragging:

Select the zoom tool
button
in the options bar.

Drag over the part of the image you want
to magnify.
Drag the zoom tool to magnify the view.
The area inside the zoom marquee is displayed at
the highest possible magnification. To move the
marquee around the image, begin dragging a
marquee and then hold down the spacebar while
dragging the marquee to a new location.
To display an image at 100%:
Do one of the following:
Double-click the zoom tool
Select the zoom tool or the hand tool, and click
Actual Pixels in the options bar.
Choose View > Actual Pixels.
, and click the Zoom In

Enter 100% in the Status Bar and press Enter or
Return.
To change the view to fit the screen:
Do one of the following:
Double-click the hand tool
Select the zoom tool or the hand tool, and click
Fit on Screen in the options bar.
Choose View > Fit on Screen.
These options scale both the zoom level and the
window size to fit the available screen space.
To automatically resize the window when magnifying
or reducing the view:
With the zoom tool active, select Resize Windows
To Fit in the options bar. The window resizes when
you magnify or reduce the view of the image.
When Resize Windows To Fit is deselected, the
window maintains a constant size regardless
of the image's magnification. This can be helpful
when you are using smaller monitors or working
with tiled views.
To automatically resize the window when magnifying
or reducing the view using keyboard shortcuts:

In Windows or Mac OS 9.x, choose Edit >
Preferences > General.

In Mac OS X, choose Photoshop Elements >
Preferences > General.

Select the Keyboard Zoom Resizes Windows
preference, and click OK.
