3.2 Installation

1. Run the Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 setup file.
2. Click Install Acronis Backup & Recovery 10.
3. For the upgrade license key: Specify the upgrade license key and the license key for Acronis True
Image Echo Server for Windows. If you have the upgrade license key for Acronis Backup &
Recovery 10 Universal Restore, specify it and the key that is used for this feature in Acronis True
Image Echo Server.
For the full license key: specify only the key for Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Server for
Windows and, if purchased, the key for Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Universal Restore.
4. Select the Proceed with installation (the previous version of the product will be removed)
check box. Optionally, during installation, you can:
import the old backup and validation tasks of Acronis True Image Echo by selecting the
Import existing tasks to Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 check box.
import settings of default backup options, default restoration options, notification options,
and event tracing options of Acronis True Image Echo by selecting the Import user settings
to Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 check box.
Otherwise, you can import the tasks and settings later at any time. For details, see "Importing old
tasks" and "Importing old options" later in this document.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Result:
Acronis True Image Echo Server for Windows is replaced with Acronis Backup & Recovery 10
Server for Windows.
If you chose to import the old tasks, they are imported to Acronis Backup & Recovery 10.
Otherwise, they are still present on the machine, but will not run until you import them.
If you chose to import the old user settings, they are imported to Acronis Backup & Recovery 10.
Otherwise, they are still present on the machine, but will not take effect until you import them.

3.3 Importing old tasks

You can import Acronis True Image Echo backup tasks and validation tasks to Acronis Backup &
Recovery 10. If not imported, these tasks will not run.
All backup and validation tasks can be imported either during Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 agent
installation or later, by manually running the Upgrade tool. Instead of importing all tasks at once, you
can use the upgrade tool to import individual tasks.
Note: The tasks that back up data to Acronis Backup Server or validate archives stored on it will not be imported
to Acronis Backup & Recovery 10. If you have such tasks, see "What can I do with tasks related to Acronis
Backup Server?" in the section "What else you may need to know (p. 8)".

3.3.1 Importing all tasks at once

To import the old tasks during installation, simply select the Import existing tasks check box in the
setup program.
To import the old tasks later, use the Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Upgrade Tool command-line
utility:
