    AIR FOR COMBUSTION AND VENTILATION WARNING: This heater shall not be installed in a confined space or unusually tight con- struction unless provisions are provided for adequate combus- tion and ventilation air. Read the following instructions to insure proper fresh air for this and other fuel-burning appliances in your home.

(volume of space) If additional ventilation to adjoining room is supplied with grills or openings, add the volume of these rooms to the total volume of the space.

    AIR FOR COMBUSTION AND VENTILATION Continued Ventilation Air From Outdoors Provide extra fresh air by using ventilation grills or ducts. You must provide two permanent openings: one within 12" of the ceiling and one within 12" of the floor. Connect these items directly to the outdoors or spaces open to the outdoors.

    INSTALLATION Continued INSTALLATION CLEARANCES WARNING: Maintain the minimum clearances. If you can, provide greater clearances from floor, ceiling and adjoining wall.   • Page 14 INSTALLATION Continued Installation must include an equipment shutoff valve, union and plugged 1/8" NPT tap. Locate NPT tap within reach for test gauge hook up. NPT tap must be upstream from fireplace (see Figure 18). IMPORTANT: Install equipment shutoff valve in an accessible location.
  • Page 15 INSTALLATION Continued NOTICE: Most building codes do not permit concealed gas connections. A flexible gas line is provided to allow accessibility from the fireplace (see Figure 20). The flexible gas supply line con- nection to the equipment shutoff valve should be accessible. 4.

Pressurize supply piping system by either opening propane/LP supply tank valve for propane/LP gas or opening main gas valve located on or near gas meter for natural gas or using compressed air.

If needed, keep pressing ignitor button until pilot lights. Note: If pilot does not stay lit, contact a qualified service person or gas supplier for repairs.

    OPERATING FIREPLACE Continued 2. The receiver continuously receives signals from the hand-held remote to control the room temperature. If the hand-held remote is misplaced, obstructed or for any reason cannot transmit to the receiver, the receiver will shut off the fireplace after 8 minutes.     INSPECTING BURNERS Continued FRONT BURNER FLAME PATTERN WARNING: If front burner flame pattern shows yellow tip- ping, your fireplace could pro- duce increased levels of carbon monoxide. Follow instructions below. Yellow flame on rear burner is normal. NOTICE: Do not mistake orange flames with yellow tipping.
