Installation
The RAVD1 Decoder should be located with the multi-
room system controller to facilitate source connections.
Setup for RNET Control
1. Run cable. Install CAT-5 cable between the remote
source location and the system controller, up to 300
feet (90 m). If desired, use modular wall plates and
RJ-45 patch cables for a neater appearance.
2. Connect source input device. Crimp an RJ-45 con-
nector on the source end of the CAT-5 cable, following
the T568A standard as shown. Plug the connector into
the RNET A/V jack on the source input device. (If using a
wall plate, punch down the CAT-5 per the T568A stan-
dard and use a straight-through patch cable between the
device and the wall plate.) Connect the remote source to
the source input device.

4. Connect Decoder to RNET system. With the RNET
system turned off, use the supplied RJ-45 patch cable to
connect from either RNET Link jack on the Decoder to
any unused RNET Link jack on the system or an RNET
source component. Use an RCA patch cable to connect
from the Decoder's audio outputs to a source audio
input on the RNET system controller. If using video, also
connect an RCA patch cable between the Decoder's
video output and the source video input on the system.
5. Power Decoder. Plug the power supply into an AC
power receptacle and connect its output lead to the
power jack on the RAVD1.
6. Turn on RNET system. Power up the system and
select the remote source. Start playing the remote
source. You should hear it playing through the system.
7. Program RNET system. Follow the RNET system's
programming instructions to set up the remote source
for control from the keypads and touchscreens.
Note: When using the RAVD1 for RNET control of the
source, do not connect anything to the IR input. Doing
so will disable RNET for the entire system.
Setup for IR Control
