To prevent serious injury and property
1. Do not exceed max. 1000 Amp capacity.
2. Do not allow red and black Cable clamps
to touch each other or same metal object.
3. Wear ANSI-approved safety goggles and
heavy-duty work gloves during use.
4. Read and understand all instructions and
safety precautions as outlined in vehicle's
service manual before use.
5. WARNING! Lead acid batteries generate
hydrogen gas during normal operation,
and even more gas is generated when
battery is charging. Hydrogen gas is
explosive.
6. WARNING! If battery fluid comes in con-
tact with skin, wash with soap and water
and rinse with lemon juice and vinegar. If
fluid comes into contact with eyes, flush
To jump start a vehicle:
1. Make sure the transmissions of both ve-
hicles are in "PARK" (for automatic trans-
missions) or "NEUTRAL" (for manual) and
their emergency brakes have been set.
Turn both car engines off prior to connect-
ing the Booster Cable to the batteries of
both vehicles.
2. Attach the RED/POSITIVE (+) Battery
Clamps to the POSITIVE battery termi-
nals of both vehicles.
3. Attach one BLACK/NEGATIVE (–) Battery
Clamp to the NEGATIVE battery terminal
of the "donor" vehicle. Attach the other

7. Do not burn a battery as it can explode in
a fire. Do not attempt to charge a leaking
battery.
8. Do not smoke in vicinity of lead battery.
9. People with pacemakers should consult
their physician(s) before use. Elec-
tromagnetic fields in close proximity to
heart pacemaker could cause pacemaker
interference or pacemaker failure.
Caution is necessary when near coil,
spark plug cables, or distributor of
running engine. Engine should be off
during distributor adjustment.
10.Inspect before every use; do not use if
parts are loose or damaged.
11. Use as intended only.
12. Keep away from children.
BLACK/NEGATIVE (–) Battery Clamp to
an unpainted, solid piece of metal on the
vehicle with the "dead" battery.
4. Start the "donor" vehicle's engine and
allow to idle.
5. Turn the ignition switch of the vehicle
with the "dead" battery to "START" for no
more than 5 to 6 seconds. NOTE: If the
vehicle's engine does not start, turn the
ignition switch to "OFF" and wait at least
3 minutes before repeating this Step.
When finished, turn off both vehicles and
remove the Booster Cable (NEGATIVE
terminal first.)
