    Considerations for downgrading the firmware version Consider the following before downgrading firmware: • Downgrading the firmware to a previous version is a disruptive operation, so prepare attached devices for this disruption during the downgrade operation. • Before downgrading from firmware 8.0.2.02.00, change any ports configured as TR to GL using QuickTools or the CLI.

  • Page 8 • Optical transceivers. Only the HP 8Gb Short Wave FC SFP+ (part number AJ718A) is supported for use in the HP StorageWorks 8/20q Fibre Channel Switch. This transceiver does not support 1 Gb/s port speed. If the port speed is configured as 1 Gb/s, the port is disabled and its state will be changed to Downed.

    • The sum of the logged in devices plus the devices zoned with devices on that port is 64 or less. If these conditions are not satisfied, that switch port reverts to software enforced zoning (soft zoning). If the active zoneset is deactivated, where the fabric has more than 64 devices and default zoning is configured to ALLOW, the default zone created when the zoneset is deactivated will have more than 64 members.

    Workaround: To update the IP address in SNMP, execute a switch reset. Note that this is a dis- ruptive action and should be planned for accordingly. • Issue: When upgrading firmware while in maintenance mode, the message "gpg: WARNING: This key is not certified with a trusted signature ..." is displayed. Workaround: This message is incorrect and may be ignored.

    Using QuickTools To determine the current version of firmware using QuickTools: Log in to the 8/20q Fibre Channel Switch through a web browser using the switch IP address. Click the switch in the fabric tree displayed in the left panel. Select the Switch tab at the bottom of the faceplate display.
