CC-STS
Product Information
The CC-STS module is the answer to system designers needs to
satisfy local building codes for emergency voice announcement
systems. These systems are typically referred to as "supervised"
installations where each amplifier senses a tone that is looped back
to the STS module. As a CC style module it is intended to operate in
a stand alone amplifier or can be used with NexSys local controllers
(LCP-AC8).
The CC-STS Module fits in the network bay located on the rear
panel of Crest Audio CK series of power processing amplifiers. The
module individually monitors each amplifiers output and the com-
plete speaker run for a pilot tone to ensure total system operation.
When the pilot tone is absent from the end of the speaker chain, the
Features
·
Two independant speaker return inputs and two Alarm outputs A & B (contact closures)
·
Works with any CC or NC type input module and CC type output module
·
STS module resides in middle bay of the CK series amplifier
·
Contact closures indicate loss of pilot tone or amplifier protect (amplifier output relays open) on either channel
·
User selectable jumpers to enable normally open or normally closed contact closures
·
Contact closures may be paralleled for a single return
·
LED's on the module indicate the type of fault
·
Selectable tone sense range 13 to 30kHz. (Typical use is 20kHz.)
·
User adjustable controls (recessed) for detector frequency and threshold level
·
Provides continuous integrity monitoring (tone sense) required for many fire safety codes
·
User selectable "Tone" fault enable / disable
·
For use as a stand alone product (no network required) or with a local controller

The module shall plug into the the middle bay of the CK Power Processing Se-
ries Amplifier. It will detect a pilot tone at the speaker return input. The
detectable frequency range of a the pilot tone will be between 13K to 30KHz.
The pilot tone frequency and threshold will be seletable by a recessed rear

The module provides 2 inputs for speaker returns and two alarm
outputs (contact closures). The alarm outputs can be set to "Paral-
lel" or "Stereo" via the "Parallel Mode" jumper. In "Parallel" mode,
both alarm outputs trip when the pilot tone is absent on either (or
both) channel. In "Stereo" mode, each alarm operates indepen-
dently. Protect and Tone LED's are also provided on the panel to
indicate which type of failure has occurred.
The CC-STS Modules are designed and manufactured in the United
States.

"Tone" or "Protect" fault for each channel. Two contact closures for"Alarm"
outputs are provided. There will be a user selectable jumper for independent
or paralled output operation. There will be a user selectable jumper for
"Tone" fault enable/disable.
