STEP 1: DRYING YOUR HAIR
¼ After you have shampooed and conditioned your hair,
comb through gently using a wide toothcomb.
1
When wet, hair can stretch by up to
/
of its length.
3
Treat it gently at this stage, to avoid damaging your hair.
¼ Before you apply a heat protection spray, use your
hairdryer to 'waft' the excess moisture from your hair.
If you apply a styling product on very wet hair, you may
dilute the product, making it less effective. Apply the
heat protection spray evenly from the roots of your hair
to the ends
¼ Using sectioning clips take a small section of hair from
the nape of the neck, and secure the rest of your hair
away from it. Using a paddle brush, dry the hair,
pointing the hairdryer down the hair from roots to ends
to help avoid any 'frizzy' bits
¼ Once this section is dry, use the cool button for a
couple of seconds to 'set' the hair
¼ Take the next section of hair, dry and cool. Do this for
the rest of your hair. This may take a little longer than
you are used to at first, but the results you achieve will
be worth it, and your style will last longer
STEP 2: STRAIGHTENING YOUR HAIR
¼ On thoroughly dry hair, section hair from the nape of the
neck no deeper than 2cm and secure the rest of the hair
away with clips
¼ Select either the lower or higher heat setting depending
on whether you have thin or thinker hair.
¼ Spray the full length of the section with the Mark Hill
Heat Protection Spray
¼ Clamp the roots of the section between the
straightening plates
¼ Gently and swiftly run the straighteners down the hair
for five seconds
¼ Take the next section and repeat until desired effect
is achieved
¼ Finish by running a wide toothcomb through the hair
and spraying with the Mark Hill Finishing Spray to add
shine and set your style.
STYLE VARIATIONS
To retain plenty of body and bounce
Straighten only the top sections of the hair around the
crown areas to give a smooth yet voluminous finish.
To create softness and shape around the face
While gliding the straightener down your hair, as you
get half way down the section, turn your wrist inwards
to shape the hair around your face and frame your
features perfectly.
For a choppier texture
Flick-out hair at the very ends by turning wrists outwards
as you get about two thirds of the way down your section.
