8.1 Using the Display

The home screen is displayed when you are not on a
call or using the menu. You must be in the home
screen to dial a phone number.

Press the 5-way navigation key (
down to select one of the menu feature icons. If you
select a menu icon by mistake, press F to return to
the home screen.
Note:
• Your phone returns to the home screen if the
handset is closed while viewing a site, composing
a message, or storing a Phone Book entry.
• Your home screen may look different from the
display shown left. For example, the menu
feature icons may be hidden to allow a better
view of the wallpaper image. You can still select
the menu icons when they are hidden from view.
• The number of characters for some menus and
messages may not fit in the display area, and ...
will appear at the end of the text.
The
(menu) indicator indicates that you can press
M
the menu key (
) to enter the main menu.
Labels at the bottom corners of the display show the
current soft key functions. Press the left soft key or
right soft key to perform the function indicated by the
left or right soft key label.
