THERMOSENSOR INSPECTION

Drain thè coolant from thè thermostat housing by removing
thè drain boit in thè housing.
Disconnect thè wire from thè thermosensor and remove thè
thermosensor.
Suspend thè thermosensor in oii over a heater and measure thè
resistance through thè sensor as thè oil heats up.

Awarning
Wear ghves and eye prolection.
NOTE
Oil must be used as thè heated liquid to check thè function
above 100°C (2120F).
You wiii get false readings if either thè sensor or
thermometer touches thè pan.
Replace thè sensor if it is out of specifications by more than
10% at any temperature listed.
Apply sealant to thè threads of thè thermosensor and tighten it
in thè thermostat housing.
NOTE
Keep thè clearnace of 3 — 4 mm (0.1 —0.2 in) between thè
case and thè thermosensor threads ends.
Connect thè wire to thè thermosensor.
FUEL PUMP RELAY
Awarning
Gasoline is exiremeiy fiammabie and is explosive under certain
condiiions. Work in a well veniilated area. Do noi sinoke or
ailow flames or sparks in thè your work area or where gasoline
is stored.
Remove thè seat and right side cover.
Check thè sub-fuse (10 A).
Remove thè relay from thè rubber bracket and check thè relay
connector terminais for looseness and corrosion.
Inspect as follows:
Disconnect thè connector and test thè wires on thè main har-
ness side.
