3. Close the computer display and turn over the computer.
4. Remove the base cover assembly. See "Base cover assembly" on page 36.
Replace the 2242 M.2 solid-state drive and its bracket
Follow the instructions to replace the 2242 M.2 solid-state drive and its bracket.
Note: There might be thermal pads on the top and under the bottom of the M.2 solid-state drive. When
replacing the M.2 solid-state drive, peel off the thermal pad on the M.2 solid-state drive and attach it in place
after installing the new M.2 solid-state drive. Ensure that the thermal pad under the M.2 solid-state drive
stays in its place and is not removed.
Step 1.
Remove the 2242 M.2 solid-state drive and its bracket as shown below.
Step 2.
Install the 2242 M.2 solid-state drive and its bracket in reverse order.
Replace the 2280 M.2 solid-state drive
Follow the instructions to replace the 2280 M.2 solid-state drive.
Notes:
• An aluminium foil might wrap the M.2 solid-state drive. To access the M.2 solid-state drive, remove the foil
first. Do not damage the foil and attach it in place before installation.
• There might be thermal pads on the top and under the bottom of the M.2 solid-state drive. When replacing
the M.2 solid-state drive, peel off the thermal pad on the M.2 solid-state drive and attach it in place after
installing the new M.2 solid-state drive. Ensure that the thermal pad under the M.2 solid-state drive stays
in its place and is not removed.
Step 1.
Remove the 2280 M.2 solid-state drive as shown below.
