Remote Control Overview

OPEN/CLOSE, EJECT (Z)
- Opens and closes the disc tray.
- Ejects the tape in the VCR deck.
AUX/DVD/VCR/RADIO
select buttons
Select the output source (DVD,VCR, AUX
or RADIO) to view on the TV screen.
Sets the sound level of each speaker.
Sets the delay time of each speaker.
TEST TONE
A hiss noise comes out for 2 seconds
from each speakers.
Turns off sound from speaker connec-
tors, AUDIO OUT and RF OUT jacks.
0-9 numerical buttons
Selects numbered options in a menu.
PROGRAM
Accesses or removes Program menu.
MARKER
Marks any point during playback.
SEARCH
Displays MARKER SEARCH menu.
Selects the VCR deck's source (Tuner,
LINE 1, or LINE 2).
OUTPUT SELECT
Cycles through the 3 main outputs:
DVD, Tuner, and VCR.
VOLUME (+/–)
Adjusts speaker sound level.
RETURN
Removes the setup menu.
STOP (x)
Stops playback.
PAUSE/STEP (X)
Pause playback or recording
temporarily/press repeatedly for frame-
by-frame playback.
PLAY (N)
Starts playback.
REC/ITR (z)
Records normally or activates Instant
Timer Recording.
A-B, SPEED
DVD - Repeats sequence.
VCR - Selects recording speed
Repeat chapter, track, title, all.
RANDOM, CM SKIP
- Plays tracks in random order.
- Fast forwards picture search through
30 seconds of recording.

This remote control uses the
same buttons for VCR or DVD
functions (ex. PLAY).
When using the VCR, first press
the VCR button.
When using the DVD, first press
the DVD button.
POWER
Switches DVD+VCR ON and OFF.
SOUND EFFECT
Selects sound mode.
PROLOGIC II
Selects PROLOGIC II sound mode.
BY PASS
Turns PRO LOGIC II sound mode Off.
CLEAR
Removes a track number on the
program menu or a mark on the
MARKER SEARCH menu.
AUDIO
Selects an audio language (DVD) or an
audio channel (CD).
ZOOM
Enlarges DVD video image.
ANGLE
Selects DVD camera angles if
available.
SUBTITLE
Selects subtitle languages.
TITLE
Displays the disc's Title menu, if
available.
DISPLAY, CLK/CNT
Accesses On-Screen display.
Switches between clock, tape counter, and
tape remaining modes displays.
SETUP, MENU
Accesses or removes DVD setup and
VCR menus.

- CH/TRK (v/V): Selects VCR channels.
Manually adjusts the tape's picture
onscreen.
DISC MENU
Accesses menu on a DVD disc.
TV/VCR
Switch: View channels selected by either
the VCR or TV tuner.
SELECT/ENTER
- Acknowledges menu selection.
- Displays functions on the TV screen.
FORWARD (>)
DVD: Search forward*/go to next chapter
or track.
VCR: Advances tape in STOP mode or
for fast forward picture search in Play
mode.
BACKWARD (.)
DVD: Search backward*/go to beginning
of current chapter or track or go to previ-
ous chapter or track.
VCR: Rewinds the tape during the
STOP mode or for fast reverse picture
search in Play mode.
* Press and hold button for about two
seconds.
