TIP
When turning the adjuster in direc-
tion (a), the 0 click position and the
1 click position may be the same.
When turning the adjuster in direc-
tion (b), it may click beyond the
stated specifications, however
such adjustments are ineffective
and may damage the suspension.
Instrument and control functions
Adjusting the shock absorber
assembly
The shock absorber assembly has ad-
justers for spring preload, rebound
damping, and compression damping.
NOTICE
To avoid damaging the mechanism,
do not attempt to turn beyond the
maximum or minimum settings.
Spring preload
Turn the adjuster in direction (a) to in-
crease the spring preload.
Turn the adjuster in direction (b) to de-
crease the spring preload.

The spring preload setting is deter-

mined by measuring distance A,
shown in the illustration. The shorter
the distance A is, the higher the spring
preload; the longer distance A is, the
lower the spring preload.

1. Distance A
Spring preload setting:
Minimum (soft):
Distance A = 154.5 mm (6.08 in)
Standard:
Distance A = 150.0 mm (5.91 in)
Maximum (hard):
Distance A = 146.5 mm (5.77 in)
Rebound damping force
Turn the adjuster in direction (a) to in-
crease the rebound damping force.
