Slide the inner tine over the tine shaft.

Slide the outer tine over the tine shaft.

Secure the tines to the tine shaft by inserting
the hairpin cotter in the outer hole in the tine
shaft.
It is easier to install the hairpin cotter by
inserting it through the hole in the tine shaft 90°
from its installed position and then turning it so it
lies fiat against the outer tine.

STORAGE
A WARNING
Never store the tiller when there is gasoline

in the fuel tank.

Never place the tiller near any source of
sparks or open flame (such as a hot water
heater, space heater or clothes dryer).
Failure to comply can lead to serious per-
|
sonal injury or property damage.
To prepare your tiller for extended storage:
1. Prepare the engine for storage by following
the "STORAGE" instructions in the separate
Engine Owner's Manual.
2. Allow the engine to cool. Then clean any dirt
and debris from the engine cooling fins, linkage
and other engine surfaces.
3. Cover the engine and store this equipment in
a dry, sheltered location.
4. Remove the tines, and clean all soil and de¬
bris away from the dust covers and the tine
shaft. Lubricate the tine shaft.
