11 Troubleshooting

Problem
Poor cooling perfor-
mance. The refrigerator
does not reach the set
cooling temperature or
exceeds the set cooling
temperature.
Water leaks into the inside
of the refrigerator.
Water leaks onto the floor.

Possible cause
The ventilation around the
cooling unit is not suffi-
cient.
The door seals are dam-
aged or have slipped.
The fan is defective.
The control sensor is
defective.
The temperature at the
compressor is too low (<0
°C).
The evaporator is iced up.
The condenser is dirty.
The ambient temperature
is too high.
Too much foodstuff was
placed in the refrigerator at
once.
Too many hot foods were
placed in the refrigerator at
once.
The refrigerator has not
been in operation for very
long.
The water drainage system
is blocked by foodstuff.
The water drainage system
is clogged with dirt.
The water drain hose is
damaged.
The water drain hose is not
routed outside the vehicle.
Suggested remedy
➤ Check that no ventilation grille or roof vent is
obstructed.
➤ Check that the required clearances for the air
inlet vent and air outlet vent have been main-
tained during installation.
➤ Check the door seals for damage and correct fit.
➤ Replace the fan.
➤ Contact an authorized service agent.
➤ Close/cover all external ventilation grilles com-
pletely with insulation material.
➤ Check whether the refrigerator door is closes
properly and the seals are not damaged.
➤ Defrost the refrigerator.
➤ Clean the condenser.
➤ Temporarily remove the ventilation grille to allow
the warm air to escape more quickly.
➤ Ensure a lower ambient temperature.
➤ Reduce the contents of the refrigerator.
➤ Remove the warm food and leave it to cool down
before putting it in again.
➤ Check the temperature again after 4–5 hours.
➤ Remove the blocking foodstuff.
➤ Remove any dirt from the drain opening and the
drain pipe.
➤ Check the drain water hose for leaks. Repair the
hose or replace it if necessary.
➤ Route the hose to the outside of the vehicle (see
chapter "Installing the drain water hose" on
page 22).
